Garage Door Repair

Spring & Cable Replacement

Garage door springs do the actual lifting, not the opener. When one breaks the door suddenly weighs a couple of hundred pounds, the opener cannot shift it, and the cables usually jump off the drums at the same time.

This is the one repair to leave alone. A wound torsion spring stores enough energy to break bones, and the replacement has to be sized to the door, not to whatever is in stock. We carry the common sizes.

Opener Installation & Repair

A garage door opener is the part you only notice when it stops. We fit belt drive, chain drive and wall-mount units, and we repair the ones worth repairing instead of selling you a motor you do not need.

Remotes, keypads, safety sensors and phone control are set up and tested before we leave, including the auto-reverse that keeps the door off a car bumper.

Maintenance & Tune-Ups

Most emergency calls started as a noise somebody lived with for a month. A tune-up is the cheap visit that prevents the expensive one.

Everything gets lubricated, tightened, balanced and safety tested, and you get told what is wearing out before it strands you. Worth booking once a year, and before winter if the door lives on the north side.
